NRNA Qatar - Background / Mission

NRNA is an institutionalized and incorporated movement of all NRNs living in overseas and who have been away from Nepal for over 2 years. It would also cover the People of Nepali Origin (PNO) permanently resides in overseas. The movement was initiated in 2003 with the aim of uniting all Nepali peoples around the globe.

Establishment of NCC Qatar:
Non Resident Nepali Association, National Coordination Council Qatar’s establishment was initiated 12th December 2003. The ad-hoc committee was led by Engineer Rajib Dangol with commitment to organize first general assembly and preparation of bi-law. Mr. Bhoj Bahadur (Sagar) Nepal was elected as country representative & International Coordination Council Member. The first General Assembly was held on 2004 and formed an executive committee.

Mission and Vision:
NRNA NCC Qatar is evidently committed to its trademark motto “For Nepali by Nepali” as to bring all Nepalese diaspora together for nation building.
As well as the NCC is devoted to unite all Non Resident Nepali (NRNs) people’s throughout the Qatar and being a common organization Nepalese working in Qatar to form a unified and institutional movement to achieve the mutual benefit between all NRNs and people of Nepal.

Accountability to NRNA ICC:
The NRNA NCC Qatar has been formed as per regulation of NRNA ICC and its accountability. The NCC is mobilizing its activities as per the direction statement of the ICC.

First Tenure 2004-2006:
Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey was elected as president of NRNA NCC by its first general assembly in 2004 AD. The committee has ranged NRNA vision and its sentiments to Nepali Community in Qatar. Mr. Bhim Sharma Paudel was elected as International Coordination Council Member. The tenure accomplished to distribute knowledge of NRN movement towards Nepali peoples in Qatar. Also it has organized the first regional conferences of NRNA ICC in 2004.

Second Tenure 2006-2009:
Mr. Kamalmani Guragain was elected as president of NRNA NCC by its second general assembly in 2006 AD. Mr. Tek Bahadur Karki was elected as International Coordination Council Member.

Third Tenure 2009-2011:
Mr. Narendra Bahadur Bhat was elected as president of NRNA NCC by its third general assembly in 2009 AD. Mr. Pragyan Udas was elected as International Coordination Council Member.

Fourth Tenure 2011-20013:
Mr. Amrit Bahadur Gurung was elected as president of NRNA NCC by its Fourth general assembly in 2011 AD. Mr. Ajjijur Rahman Sheikh was elected as International Coordination Council Member.

Fifth Tenure 2013-2015:
Mr. Macksud Alam was elected as president of NRNA NCC by its Fifth general assembly in 2013 AD.
